What Are Super V-Hooks? Our New Powder Coating Hooks Explained

Super V-Hooks for Powder Coating: What They Are and How They Work

Hook Authority now offers Super V-Hooks, a new industrial hanging hook that combines features of traditional V-hooks and S-hooks.

A Super V-Hook follows the double-ended shape of an S-hook, but instead of having a rounded bowl on each end, it has a sharper V-shaped bend on both ends. The entire hook is also formed flat, meaning both V-shaped ends lie in the same plane.

The wire itself is still round. “Flat” describes the orientation of the hook and its bends, not the shape of the wire.

This creates a simple, reversible option for hanging parts during powder coating, painting, washing, curing, plating, and other industrial finishing processes.

How Is a Super V-Hook Different From an S-Hook?

A standard S-hook has a rounded, bowl-shaped bend on both ends. That shape works well for general-purpose hanging and allows parts to be added or removed quickly.

A Super V-Hook has the same basic double-ended design, but the rounded bowls are replaced by V-shaped bends. The sharper bends create a more defined resting point where the hook contacts the rack or part.

The primary differences are:

  • S-hooks have rounded bowls on both ends
  • Super V-Hooks have V-shaped bends on both ends
  • Super V-Hooks are formed flat, with both ends in the same plane
  • Super V-Hooks provide a more defined contact point than a rounded S-hook

Super V-Hooks are not intended to replace S-hooks in every application. They provide another option for parts or hanging arrangements that work better with a flat hook and sharper bends.

What Are Super V-Hooks Used For?

Super V-Hooks can be used as industrial hanging hooks for:

  • Powder coating
  • Wet painting
  • Plating
  • Anodizing
  • Parts washing
  • Curing and drying
  • Surface finishing
  • General manufacturing processes

One end connects to the rack, bar, fixture, or conveyor while the other end holds the part being processed. Because both ends have the same V-shaped design, the hook can be flipped without changing its basic function.

The flat orientation is useful when both ends of the hook need to face the same direction. The V-shaped bends can also provide a more defined contact point when a rounded S-hook moves too freely along a rack or does not sit properly against the part.

Super V-Hooks for Powder Coating

Choosing the right powder coating hooks depends on the part, its hanging point, the rack design, and how the part must travel through the coating line.

Super V-Hooks may be a good option when:

  • A rounded S-hook moves too freely on the rack
  • You need a more defined contact point on both ends
  • Both ends must remain in the same plane
  • You need a reversible, double-ended hanging hook
  • A standard V-hook or S-hook does not fit the application properly

No single hook style works best for every coating line. Adding Super V-Hooks to our selection gives powder coaters another option when choosing a hook for a specific part or rack setup.

If you are unsure which style or wire diameter makes the most sense, our guide explains how to choose the right powder coating hook.

Steel and Stainless Steel Super V-Hooks

Hook Authority offers Super V-Hooks in regular steel and 304 stainless steel.

Regular steel is a practical choice for most powder coating, painting, curing, and industrial finishing applications. Stainless steel is available for applications involving moisture, chemical exposure, corrosion concerns, or repeated use.

Both materials are available in multiple wire diameters and lengths, allowing you to select the size that works best with your parts and hanging system.
